M17SculptureProject
“Roots and Pollen” sculpture project – the first Ukrainian professional award in the field of three-dimensional art, curated by Kateryna Ray, it was launched by the M17 Contemporary Art Center together with Adamovskiy Foundation In 2019. The Prize is aimed at identifying and supporting talented contemporary artists from Ukraine.
The project invites to reflect on what the concept of the “roots” is to society in the contemporary world. Does the origin of the individual affect (directly or indirectly) his life, activity, creativity, worldview. What is it the nature of constant motion, of searching for new territories, motivation to diffuse? The roots grow deeper and deeper. Pollen, for its part, can’t be contained or controlled, it flies at a wind speed to distant territories. But, settling down, takes root again. Where are the roots in the globalized world? And how durable something that unrooted is? Where is the fulcrum, on which the art that lives in time and experiences it is focused? What will the artist see when he looks back, drenched deep in meanings of the cultures that raised him and gave him strength? What is his perception of beauty, his ideas about the origin of the world based? How is private correlated with the overall global.

Virtual Museum “Kazimir Malevich” by Serhii Nizhinsky
The X-Museum of K. Malevich is a new form of presenting artistic product that raises questions about globalization in cultural processes worldwide. It is an alternative platform for presenting the artist’s work, aimed at achieving the integrity of K. Malevich’s global heritage through the creation of his digital museum. In the modern world, there are many political issues regarding the name of Kazimir Malevich, there are many disputes about Malevich’s national identity and his collection. But such things devalue the important cultural heritage, causing the “dispersion” of his achievements.
The X-Museum of K. Malevich is an independent platform aimed at combining 1) the artistic objects of K. Malevich, which are located around the world in museum collections and private collections (a database of objects will be created from which various exhibitions can be built online) 2) artistic initiatives related to the heritage of Kazimir Malevich. 3) a forum for world experts and researchers working on the topic of K. Malevich. The collection will be filled through the digitization of K. Malevich’s objects and the integration of new artistic solutions by contemporary artists and the expert forum.
